About Copper (Cu)

Copper, with its filled electric d-band, exists as a noble metal according to its physics definition.

The production of melanin begins with the conversion of the amino acid, tyrosine, by the enzyme tyrosinase into 5, 6-iodole quinone. Tyrosinase is a copper-containing enzyme which catalyzes the conversion of tyrosine stabilizing the conformation of the melanin structure. The copper ion acts as a backbone for the polymer structure of melanin resulting in a metal-organic complex according to Nur Ankh Amen in his legendary work, The Ankh.

4 - 5, 6-iodole quinone bond with the copper element looks like a swastika. Why is that? That ancient shape was acknowledged as a symbol of peace, well-being and good luck. The undergirding chemical element of melanin references good fortune and wellness therefore, as humans, our humanity is auspicious. Wonderful.
