English has endured the long journey through Indo-European, West Germanic and olde English into the post-Norman conquest. The French exigir then lasted three hundred years into the Renaissance of Shakespeare’s middle English. Martin Luther’s publishing efforts ushered literacy into the hands of those that would read and think for themselves thus inducting the Modern English we read and speak today. English: the language of warfare, transactions, and meticulous legal persuasions. It’s boring yet it opens a hole into the fabric of this auditory existence that shapes our every thought and movement.
